We are very excited to launch our first public web app: Envelopes for Google Docs.
The app allows Google Docs users to create envelopes -- until now that required a lot of messing around and wasted envelopes.
Developed entirely in-house, Weehooey's developer team used new features in Google Apps Script to achieve a conception-to-deployment time of less than 14 days.
Any user of Google Docs or Google Drive can install and use the app for from the Chrome Web Store: Envelopes for Google Docs.
With Google Apps Script, your company can automate workflows, link to internal databases and build useful tools for your employees and customers. Give us a call today to discuss how we can make your business more efficient.
Special thanks to Piotr Rauchfleisch of The Tall Guy - Design & Marketing for the professional design work to make our creation beautiful not just useful.

This is a great idea; however, when I attempt to print, it converts the envelop to a full size (8 X 11) page with the "Ask" logo on it. Due to the page size, my HP printer will not print the envelope since it's "looking for" a full page. Any suggestions? Am I overlooking a setting?
ReplyDeleteHi JM,
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have not set your sheet size in your printer settings. Please see here:

Hi Bill,
ReplyDeleteWhen I print on my Brother HL-3075CW it does not print in the correct orientation for an envelope. I did go to your page on printer settings, but setting it to landscape had no effect.
Step 1: I start your app and enter the name of the file and click the button to create.
Step 2: Behind the scenes your app has created the .gdoc file with my file name under my top Google Drive folder.
Step 3: I click to open the file in Google Drive.
Step 4: I enter sender and recipient address. Note: I have to manually tab over for the recipient address. Not sure if you meant that to be the case. In other words, there is no separate area for the recipient.
Step 5: If I print now, I will get a portrait oriented sheet of paper. That won't do so I open File/Page Orientation and switch to landscape and -- BAM -- your envelope dimensions are gone. I am back to a standard page size.
Any help is appreciated,
Eric
Hi Eric,
DeleteSorry to hear you are having difficulty. The app does create a Google Document and it should be ready to print. What you need to do is set your sheet size in the printer. You do not need to change the orientation to landscape in the Google Doc but rather in the printer settings. This might help you get it sorted out: http://envelopes.weehooey.com/faq/theenvelopelooksrightonscreenbutprintsoff
